The Bay’s new delivery service promoted in The Press and Journal

We’ve been busy this week implementing new strategies to allow The Bay Fish & Chips to reopen for delivery in Stonehaven.

It’s been great to see everyone’s excitement about the shop reopening and also receiving support from the local press.

Our new delivery scheme has been featured in an article on The Press and Journal’s website, with an in-depth interview with Calum on the reason behind the shop’s temporary closure and plans for The Bay moving forward.

In the article, Calum said: “I was going to open this week, but I decided the timing wasn’t right. We will reopen on Thursday – but it’s going to be a bit of trial and error. I’m trying to build a business back and I’m going to take baby steps with it.

“We’ll be operating on reduced hours, a reduced menu and reduced staff. The two-metre rule is a problem, so we’ll slowly get staff back as the business grows, and as long as it’s safe to do so.

“We will offer delivery this week and we will build on it. The objective is to get to click and collect, but my fear is people treat it as a day out and sit and eat fish and chips at the beach. It’s a bit too early for that.”
