The Bay’s Sustainable Business Award features in The Caterer

It’s brilliant to see our Cateys 2020 award win featured in an article on The Caterer.

Last year, The Bay Fish and Chips was announced as the winner of the Sustainable Business Award in The Cateys 2020 – the Oscars of hospitality accolades. It’s an achievement we’re hugely proud of and worked hard to win.

Our shop runs on 100% renewable energy and all of our suppliers are selected with sustainability in mind, with 90% of our produce sourced within 50 miles of Stonehaven.

Our passion and commitment to sustainability at The Bay Fish and Chips is explored further in the article, where it says the whole team has a “reputation for leading the way on sustainability initiatives.”

It also covers our shop refit in January 2020 and the measures we put in place which helped win us the award:

“Updates include a new state-of-the-art, zero-emission fryer with 97% gas efficiency, purpose-built sinks that are shallower to reduce water wastage, new fridges that eliminate unused space, and new motion-activated lighting, which has been installed to cut down electricity use.

“The Bay Fish & Chips has led the way and inspired many other businesses and Richardson continues to push the sustainability message across fish and chip restaurants and the wider hospitality audience.”
