Scotland is one of the best places in the UK for quality, homegrown food. We have one of the best natural larders right on our doorstep, and we really want to show this off to the world. We’re not the only ones, either – the Stonehaven Food Town initiative is putting the whole town on the map.
With lots of local businesses just like us producing great food, Stonehaven is a fantastic place to visit to enjoy some of Scotland’s best local produce and the Food Town initiative is promoting just that. At The Bay, we serve up North Sea MSC haddock caught fresh every day, as well as showcasing some lovely local food from producers often located just down the road.
Stonehaven was originally a market town, so there’s real heritage behind a lot of the producers who have sold their wares here throughout the generations. Of course, there’s still the Stonehaven farmer’s market every month which brings great produce straight back to our Market Square. There’s also the annual Stonehaven Real Ale Festival every November, sponsored by The Bay, which is great if you’re looking for something to wash down those fish and chips.
You can’t get much better than Stonehaven for local, fresh produce, and we want to make sure everyone who visits gets a proper taste of Scotland. Look out for The Bay at local foodie events and festivals, and be sure to drop by for some fish and chips.
