The Cateys – Our most recent recognition comes from The Cateys, the UK’s leading multimedia brand for hospitality. This is our precious lockdown award that celebrates excellence and innovation in the industry. We’re immensely proud to hold the title of the Sustainable Business Award and will continue to put our sustainable promises into practice.
Society Awards Finalist – The Society Award showcases and celebrates the region’s food and drink, among other categories, and shines the light on local businesses. We were lucky enough to be a finalist alongside four other businesses in the ‘Food Business of the Year’ category.
Lonely Planet Ultimate Eat List – We’re immensely proud of one of our latest achievements from Lonely Planet. Enjoying The Bay’s fish and chips on Stonehaven Beach had Britain’s highest ranking as one of the world’s top food experiences by the Lonely Planet Guide, placing at 31. The voting and food sampling is done by some of the world’s top chefs and to be recognised for this is truly remarkable. We always try to give back and look after our environment at The Bay Fish and Chips by being sustainable and eco-friendly, whilst cooking really good locally sourced food. We’re proud as a team and to work with local producers to deliver award-winning fish and chips to our customers.
Scotland of Food and Drink Award – This award celebrates food and drink as the best performing industry in Scotland. We proudly took the title of Food Pioneer for the Excellence Awards this year.
North East Scotland Food & Drink Awards – This food and drink award celebrates and recognises only the best innovation and excellence of hospitality businesses across Scotland. The Bay took home the Best New Foodservice Product for our award-winning fishcakes.
Scotland of Food and Drink Award – Celebrating the excellence of food and drink in Scotland, we took the title of Success Through Partnership for the Excellence Awards this year.
The NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Accreditation – From the National Federation of Fish Friers, this award is accredited to those who pass the quality benchmark serving the highest quality fish and chips in the UK, and highlights the professionalism of shop owners and staff. We’re proud to have this displayed on our website and at The Bay to show our dedication and commitment to our quality, award-winning fish and chips.
The Sustainable Restaurant Association (3 stars) – The RSA certification determines how well a company is tackling the 10 core areas of the sustainability framework, as well as measuring their progress within the industry. The Bay Fish and Chips are proud to have this by our name.
SRA Food Made Good Award – Food Made Good is the world’s largest food service sustainability programme and a global movement working to make every meal served out of home as sustainable as possible. For this year, our sustainability efforts granted us this award.
Grampian Food Forum Innovation Award – The award recognises the best for innovation, excellence and dedication to providing the best and most outstanding services to clients and customers. We’re the proud winners of the Innovation Award for our hard work and creativity over the years.
The NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Accreditation – Keeping the title for another year for the quality of our award-winning fish and chips.
Grampian Food Forum Innovation Award – Recognising the best for innovation, excellence and dedication, we were runners up for this award out of 25 competitors, under the category Best New Foodservice Product for our award-winning fish cakes.
Sustainable Restaurant Association (3 stars) – We put everything we have into making The Bay a sustainable business – from sea to fork and everything in between. We’re thrilled to have been recognised for this yet again.
Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Green Award – Celebrating and showcasing the best places to live, visit, and do business, this award saw us take home the Green Award for our environmental passion and action.
Aberdeen City and Shire Finalist – For this tourism partnership award, we had an extremely successful year as we took home the Green Award, Best Informal Eating Experience, and Ambassador of the Year.
The NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Accreditation – Award-winning fish and chips and consistent quality stay at the heart of The Bay for another year.
Sustainable Restaurant Association (3 stars) – We’re over the moon to continually be recognised for meeting the 10 cores of sustainable practices at The Bay Fish and Chips for another year running.
Taste Our Best – This quality assurance scheme provides tourists and visitors of Scotland the best places to eat and drink in Scotland based on factors such as quality ingredients of Scottish provenance, local food, and minimal food miles. We’re proud to have this accreditation by our name and displayed on our website for our quality food and award-winning fish and chips.
Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards – This award celebrates the exciting, modern and sustainable European city regions as excellent places to live, visit, and do business. For the category, Ambassador of the Year, we were proud finalists.
2 Degrees Network Awards – 2 Degrees strive for sustainable businesses at a scale. In 2014 we were lucky enough to be runners up for the Personality of the Year award.
Fry Magazine – Fry Magazine Limited is the leading trade publication for the fish and chip shop market. They search nationwide for the fish and chip shops that stand out head and shoulders above the rest on food quality, customer service and appearance. We have this title next to our name as we made the top 50 out of 500 competitors.
The SRA Environmental Award – We have many of the Sustainable Restaurant Awards next to our name, however, this year we’re proud winners of the Environmental Award for our sustainability efforts over the years.
Grampian Food Forum – The Grampian Awards were back for another year, and this time we were honoured with The Denis Emslie Award for Above and Beyond with our services, passion, and ethics – something we’re immensely proud of.
We’re extremely proud of everything we have achieved so far. Having awards to demonstrate our dedication to producing the best quality food whilst doing right by the environment is rewarding in itself.
